My name is Elena Ciesco. As you wander through my website, I hope you feel the compassion, care, and love that live quietly within everything I create.

My journey into floristry unfolded gently and quite organically, after many wonderful years working as a beauty therapist. In 2020, my beloved Papa passed away, and in the stillness of grief, I found myself drawn to flowers. Creating arrangements became a way to channel my love for him — each stem, each petal, a small act of remembrance.

Loss has a way of reshaping us. Through the heartache, I slowly grew into a new version of myself, guided by creativity and a lifelong love of colour, texture, structure, and flow. What began as a tender way to heal has blossomed into a thriving business dedicated to my Papa, which is why it carries his name.

Alongside my floristry work, I continue to run my beauty therapy business, Papa’s Pause, which I’ve lovingly nurtured for over 30 years. I also run a dog-walking and pet-sitting business called Papa’s Paws — because spending time with animals truly is purr-fect.

Life keeps me busy, and I spin many plates these days, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love the energy, the creativity, and the beautiful variety each new day brings.

Everything I do is made with love — love for my Papa, love for the people I create for, and love for the small moments that make life meaningful.

Papa’s Passionflower Blooms in the Spotlight, Reaching Finals of Prestigious Floristry Awards

Local floral design studio,  Papa’s Passionflower, is thrilled to announce its place as a finalist in the highly acclaimed Kay’s Flower School Florist of The Year 2025 Award. This prestigious award is widely recognised as one of the most significant honours in the floristry industry across Ireland and the UK.

Elena, the owner and lead designer, expressed immense pride in the achievement. “Making it to the final stage of the Kay’s Flower School Florist of The Year Award 2025 is a huge honour for me”, said Elena, “It’s a testament to the passion, hard work, and creativity I pour into every single arrangement. I am incredibly grateful for this recognition and for the support of our wonderful community here in Surrey.”

Papa’s Passionflower has been a beloved fixture in the community for 5 years, known for its stunning Funeral arrangements, beautiful everyday bouquets and wedding flowers. The business prides itself on providing a highly personalised service with bespoke designs that tell a unique story. This recognition places Papa’s Passionflower among the top floral designers in the region, highlighting its commitment to excellence and innovation.

The winner of the Kay’s Flower School Florist of the Year 2025 will be announced at an awards ceremony on 8th August 2025.

Established in 2020, Papa’s Passionflower is a full-service floral design studio located in Ashtead, dedicated to creating beautiful and memorable floral experiences for every occasion.
